Think and Make It Happen

When reading the book Think and Make It Happen by Dr. Augusto Cury was an interesting dive into the perspective of a professional psychologist's view point of Jesus. A former Atheist, Dr. Cury reviews Jesus from a psychological perspective. How did he think? What can we take from the Bible as far as instructions or models of the way we should handle incidents in life? Dr. Cury offers a refreshing view on the humanity of Christ and the practicality of the examples given of Christ's life.

Dr. Cury gives 12 principles provide ideals to give your life a more peaceful state of mind. It helps you to realize the self sabotaging you do with your thoughts. Without realizing it, most of us think our way out of doing the things we are more than capable of doing! This book helps us to remember the idea Christ gave us that we should “Take all thoughts captive.” While there were many good examples of Christ’s life some could say that they disagree with the application of the ideas and the interpretations he presented.
All and all it was a basic self-help book, targeting those of us who are down hearted and in need of a little help getting away from the thought patterns we cling to. Jesus is a role model whether you are a Christian looking for the secrets to life or not. Who Jesus was embodied the perfection of God. If we can figure out how to see Jesus in new ways, as long as they are theologically sound, then we will be able to reach those who aren’t finding the help the need from the Bible at face value. I recommend this book to anyone who has been finding themselves in a vicious circle of self sabotage.
